Navigation lines

Thanks to the navigation lines that connect the most important lakeside towns, tourists can move in a relaxing and pleasant way while admiring the beauty of Lake Garda.
The ferry service is a public service of the Ministry of Transport that has been active since 1827. Who wants to travel rapidly, can use a hydrofoil or catamaran. Who prefers enjoying the peace of the Lake, can take the slower pleasure boats.

It is possible to go from Desenzano to Riva del Garda, passing by Peschiera del Garda and all the main destinations along the shore of the lake. The prices of the ferry start from €3 for a one-way ticket, increasing gradually depending on the distance travelled and type of ship. There are free-circulation tickets available to people who wish to do a boat tour of Lake Garda, which enable to travel an entire day without any route or stop limitation. Tickets can be purchased in the ticket offices located close to the docks of the main towns of the lake, otherwise on board.

It is also possible to use the car ferry between Maderno and Torri del Benaco throughout the year and between Limone and Malcesine in summertime. It is even possible to hire a pleasure boat for an unforgettable cruise by day or night, for parties, meetings and weddings.
The most notable vessels that offer their navigation service on the lake, are the former steamships Italia (capacity of 600 people) and Zanardelli (500 people), the modern motorships Tonale and Brenner (1000 people) and the car ferry Brescia (700 people).
