The winds of Lake Garda are all known by name, ‘Peler’ accompanies good weather and the breeze starts in the early hours of the morning, then there is ‘Ora’ which comes from the south and starts to blow in the early hours of the afternoon; however for those who love to sail and windsurf they can always count on the benevolence of ‘Eolo’.
Lighter but constant breezes blow in the southern part of the lake, whilst more impetuous winds exhale in the north, a particular favourite for sailors and surfers. During the summer the lake is a must for all water sportsmen, many coming from all over Europe to take part in the numerous regattas.
Why not let us tempt you in to spending a few hours on the last ‘ketch’ made completely in wood which still sails on the Lake, the "San Nicolò". The silence is broken only by the flapping of the sails and the rush of water against the side of the ketch.
This charming sailing boat is moored at Bardolino and can visit some of the most characteristic villages on the lake;- Sirmione, Garda, and Torri Del Benaco. On route you can admire the sights unique from this view point; - Punta San Vigilio, the island of Garda, and the Caves of Catullo.
The boat is equipped with a small café which can also offer light refreshments and buffets if requested in advance, stereo music, and a toilet. During the cruise the crew is there to assist.
