Summer on Lake Garda is an explosion of life, fun, nature, sport and excitement given by the longer days, the warm air temperatures from 24 to 32 Celsius degrees and the refreshing lake water from 17 to 27 Celsius degrees, where to dive-in to cool down from the hot sunbeams.
During this season, it is nice to lay down and enjoy the view from one of the marvellous beaches like the Baia delle Sirene beach in Garda (a private shore with beach club, entertainments, nursery and bars; admission with a fee) and the Val di Sogno beach, a free pebble beach south of Malcesine, famous for windsurfing, sailing and the long promenade along the lake. When the water is shallow, it is possible to walk to the Isola di Sogno island, 20 metres far from the beach and a good place for scuba diving.
Summer is also the right season to practise water sports. Lake Garda is especially renowned for sailing as there are many important annual regattas but also wakeboarding, kitesurfing, windsurfing, canoeing, snorkelling and not to forget the most fashionable sport of the last years: the stand-up paddling (SUP) are home here.
Another opportunity to enjoy the amazing summer weather is to explore the lake on one of the many ferries and sailing ships, to see the Lake from a total new perspective.
San Nicolò is a sailing boat that brings you to the most impressive places and towns of the Lake: Sirmione, Garda, Torri, Punta San Vigilio, Isola del Garda e Catullo's Grottoes among many others.

Summer on Lake Garda is not only swimming and relaxing at the beaches. Just behind the lake, there rises the Monte Baldo with a height of over 2,000 metres, also known as the "Garden of Europe". It dominates the landscape with its unmistakable profile and is considered a true paradise for hikers and lovers of outdoor activities.
Nature and mountain lovers find a fast track by using the Cable Car that brings you 1,760 m above the sea level and covers the 1,600 metres of difference in altitude in 10 minutes.
On top of Monte Baldo you have the Lake at your feet and a spectacular and astonishing view opens in front of you; the blue of the sky and the lake blend together with the green of the meadows.
A visit to the Alpine cottages is the occasion to get in touch with those basic activities that are part of the mountain life and to discover and to taste the ancient traditions and flavours that are still alive.

During summer, there are many different food and wine events everywhere around the Lake, like the "Sardellata al chiar di Luna", a fish festival in Garda that is linked to the village roots and celebrates the traditional fishing of the Lake sardine. This event recalls the anglers’ habit to stop on the shores and cook the fished sardines. Having an aperitif in summer is a must as proves the "Aperitivo sotto le stelle" ("Aperitif under the stars") in Bardolino that boasts music shows, entertainments, fireworks, caraibic dances and buskers enliven the town juggling and walking on stilts.
Those events are unique opportunities to sample the typical products of the area, the great wines and the excellent local dishes.

In the evening, when the hot sun goes down and the lights turn on along the shores, Lake Garda becomes a shining painting, a thrilling scenery.
Seating on a terrace or walking along promenades, this magic atmosphere will embrace you and the excitement will stay forever in your heart.
