Lake Garda is a region to experience but also to enjoy. There is more than just the lake, beautiful nature and stunning sceneries. The area is a real food heaven and will conquer you with its exquisite gastronomic tradition and wine culture. It offers a wide range of regional top products ranging from mild fish to strong mountain flavours.
Freshwater fish, wine (white, red and rosé) and extra virgin olive oil DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) are typical specialties as well as are citrus fruits, honey and peaches. Not to forget truffles from Monte Baldo, cheese from mountain huts, white asparagus from Rivoli and sweet chestnuts DOP from San Zeno di Montagna.

The Lake Garda wines represent a region that has been boasting an established and internationally recognized wine production for decades.
From Custoza to Bardolino and from Valpolicella to Amarone, the particular characteristics of the territory can be tasted with every single sip. That's what you will experience when savouring the top wines of Lake Garda, an exceptional heritage of flavours, traditions and culture.

The heterogeneity of the lake landscape is historically connected to a flourishing cultural period of the Veneto region: the Venice republic La Serenissima was a gateway to the East that seriously influenced the food and wine culture of this area. Hilly, loose, dry and poorly loamy terrains characterize the eastern shore of the lake. Here you will find four different DOC label wines (wines with protected wine denomination) of great quality: the white wines Lugana and Custoza; the rosè wine Bardolino Chiaretto and the red wine Bardolino.
The best known among them is the bright ruby Bardolino, to which the Wine Museum (Museo del Vino) and the Wine Route (Strada del Vino) are dedicated.
The Wine Route covers 80 km from the lake coast to the hilly hinterland, showing fabulous sceneries and architecture.
